For over a decade, people have gathered together to listen to and perform experimental electronic and electro-acoustic music, to swap gear and ideas, and to find like-minded life-long friends under the umbrella of electro-music.com. These gatherings have fostered an eclectic and diverse community of musicians and makers, improvisers and composers, amateurs and academics. The strangest thing about the electro-music community? That this might be the first time you’ve ever heard of it.

For the past six years, the annual electro-music festival has been held in Huguenot, NY. As of the last day of 2016’s electro-music festival, the upstate New York days have been uploaded to the archive.

ELECTRO MUSIC IS MOVING TO THE MIDWEST

2017 will be the first e-m held in Indianapolis, Indiana. August 4-6 (instead of MEME, the Midwest Electro-Music Experience).
The Irving Theater will host experimental musicians from the United States and all over the world.
This year’s lineup includes but is not limited to 44 performances, 70+ musicians, and 5 video artists.

Irvington is home to a variety of culinary options from handcrafted pizzas to Mexican seafood to caribbean cuisine.
Additionally Sun King beer and nonalcoholic beverages will be available for purchase at the show.

0 New Release – ‘The Sound of Thunder’

  • November 1, 2012
  • by Charles Shriner
  • · dRachEmUsiK · MCSD Studio & NetLabel

MCSD NetLabel and onomastic
are very happy to announce the release of
‘The Sound of Thunder’
by onewayness and dRachEmUsiK
A unique blend of Binaural Theta Drone, Ambient, lowercase and Glitch.

The Sound of Thunder is a collaborative effort by onewayness and dRachEmUsiK that was inspired by the final movement of T.S. Eliot’s ‘The Waste Land’, ‘What the Thunder Said’; and also by the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad, from which it draws heavily.  Each movement is based on one of the four concepts from the Upanishad, as used by Eliot:  Datta (Charity), Dayadhvam (Mercy), Damyata (Restraint), and Shantih (Peace).  With the exception of Peace, which we have allowed to stand alone, the movements are intended to represent the conflict and resolution between these virtues and the ‘undesirable’ qualities that they are meant to keep in check.

0 Alternoia by 7h3 n3w f4L$3 9ODz

  • July 4, 2012
  • by Charles Shriner
  • · dRachEmUsiK

Sound for Good records have partnered with Trees for the Future and WDCS to offer the new release "Alternoia" by The New False Gods . Please read the literature in the download. Optionally, your donation of any amount will be help support the Trees for the Future AND the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society projects. Your support is appreciated in helping make a difference in the world with music.

Alternoia is the result of the collaboration between a group of prominent artists who create work under a variety of electronic sub-genres. Under the direction of Jack Hertz, artists were tasked to create music for an album inspired by 'altered states' and 'paranoia,' hence the name: "Alternoia." Working as 7h3 n3w ƒ4£$3 90Ðz (The New False Gods), their divine skillz have produced a unique set of tracks that, in my mind, are truly evocative of the album title. Jack Hertz created demos for each track that were given to each artist to work on. What is great about this album is that each track is unique and contains elements of noise, jazz, dark ambient, etc. The elements have been masterfully mixed together to produce an album that is melodic, strange and otherworldly.

Since 1989, Trees for the Future has been helping communities around the world plant trees. Through seed distribution, agroforestry training, and our country programs, we have empowered rural groups to restore tree cover to their lands. Planting trees protects the environment and helps to preserve traditional livelihoods and cultures for generations. More information can be found at www.plant-trees.org

Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society (WDCS) is the leading global charity dedicated to the conservation and welfare of all whales and dolphins. Serving as a world voice for the protection of these animals, creating pressure to bring about change. WDCS defend these remarkable creatures against the many threats that they face such as hunting, captivity, chemical and noise pollution, ship collisions (ship strikes) , entanglement in fishing nets (bycatch) and climate change. The organization does this by taking money raised and pumping it back into campaigns and projects across the globe that really do have an impact. Learn more about the WDCS online at www.wdcs.org

Sound for Good is a record label that publishes and promote new music as a means to support good causes. This is an independent project that is supported directly by the artists and is not for profit or monetary gain in any way. All the artists time and 100%
of your donation are focused on support a good cause.

The cover is taken from a painting by a Los Angeles California artist Treiops Treyfid. Nice one :) Web Site: treiops.com

This album would not be possible without help from the artists who performed with a 10 Ton weight hanging over them. A really BIG
thanks goes to Mark Blood for writng the wonderful album liner notes for the tracks and artist' profiles. Special thanks to Kim Cascone for suggesting the group name: "The New False Gods." Remember, only the paranoid survive.
