For over a decade, people have gathered together to listen to and perform experimental electronic and electro-acoustic music, to swap gear and ideas, and to find like-minded life-long friends under the umbrella of electro-music.com. These gatherings have fostered an eclectic and diverse community of musicians and makers, improvisers and composers, amateurs and academics. The strangest thing about the electro-music community? That this might be the first time you’ve ever heard of it.

For the past six years, the annual electro-music festival has been held in Huguenot, NY. As of the last day of 2016’s electro-music festival, the upstate New York days have been uploaded to the archive.

ELECTRO MUSIC IS MOVING TO THE MIDWEST

2017 will be the first e-m held in Indianapolis, Indiana. August 4-6 (instead of MEME, the Midwest Electro-Music Experience).
The Irving Theater will host experimental musicians from the United States and all over the world.
This year’s lineup includes but is not limited to 44 performances, 70+ musicians, and 5 video artists.

Irvington is home to a variety of culinary options from handcrafted pizzas to Mexican seafood to caribbean cuisine.
Additionally Sun King beer and nonalcoholic beverages will be available for purchase at the show.

Mirrors to the Bonfire
Release Date: 08.29. 2016 onomastic records | MCSD NetLabel
mirrors_image

Mirrors to the Bonfire, the latest collaboration from the critically acclaimed duo of onewayness (Adam Holquist/Erie, PA) and dRachEmUsiK (Charles Shriner/Indianapolis, IN), replaces the exuberance and emotional optimism of their last full-length, 2014’s Immeasurable, with emotional ambiguity and complexity, swapping comfort and joy for unsettling, but ultimately rewarding, drama and melancholy.

Mirrors to the Bonfire is a series of meditations on human feedback and the powers of interpersonal interaction. The three long tracks sculpt a polished narrative of conflict and resolution that cycles in and out of warm nostalgia and dark, uncharted territory. Dark analog drones and electroacoustic concrète clatter give way to extended melodic duo explorations for acoustic guitar & electronic wind instrument.

Mirrors to the Bonfire is available as a physical CD or digital download from onomastic records and MCSD NetLabel

Tatsuya Nakatani
simf(jonathan sielaff)

Tatsuya Nakatani is a creative artist originally from Osaka, Japan.

He has been residing in the USA since 1994 and is currently based in Easton, PA.Since the late 1990s, Mr. Nakatani has released over sixty recordings in the USA and Europe and has performed countless solo percussion concerts through intensive touring. He has also collaborated with hundreds of other artists internationally and presented masterclasses, workshops and lectures across the USA and around the world.

Nakatani’s approach to music is visceral, non-linear and intuitively primitive, expressing an unusually strong spirit while avoiding any categorization. He creates sound via both traditional and extended percussion techniques… which manifest in an intense and organic music that represents a very personal sonic world.

Adam Riviere
Adam

Adam Riviere, world percussionist, audio engineer and composer boasts over 25 years of experience, 13 published albums and numerous collaborations. Riviere began playing the piano at the age of ten, which led to a love of percussion and throughout the years that followed, he studied more than 30 world instruments. His music sounds as unique as the instruments he plays. Styles he performs and infuses during his performances include Middle Eastern, African, Classical, Celtic, Latin/Afro-Cuban, Caribbean, Native American, and Electro Acoustic World Ambient Trance. Riviere’s love for culture and music can be heard in his performances, displaying how different cultures and mediums of music can make one great sound.

KCEM2014
Hosted by Kevin Kissinger and Shane Morris, the KC Regional electro-music.com  festival encompasses all styles of electronic music, DIY instruments, performances, collaborations, and demonstrations.

The KC Regional formed from the increasing need for a live performance outlet for experimental electronic music in the mid-western states. The festival is not limited to participants in the region alone, but does seek to consolidate and network with artists in the extended area. The intention is to create a cooperative community where artists and enthusiasts participate and benefit together.

Hosting both stereo and 5.1 surround sound, the Walnut Creek Clubhouse is a wonderful setting just of the Missouri River with the KC skyline on the horizon. The venue has large vaulted wooden ceilings, wonderful lighting, comfy couches, and great acoustics.
