0 New embral live release
In June 2019, embral played a short 4-date mini-tour in support of our new release, Deep State. At each show on this tour, we played abbreviated versions of both album pieces, separated by an extended improvisation. This release represents the highlights of those improvisations, and serves as a companion piece to Deep State.
Recorded live June 20-23, 2019 at Playground Productions (Indianapolis, IN); Monk’s Kaffee Pub (Dubuque, IA); Rozz-Tox (Rock Island, IL); and the Way Out Club (St. Louis, MO)
0 New embral release ‘Deep State’
It’s been a challenging year but we finally got this one out into the world! The new embral release Deep State is here.
This is a joint release between embral and the Indy Label Personal Archives.
Built from building blocks developed over 10 days of live improvisations, ‘Deep State’ is a socio-political statement about the nature of truth, perception and interpretation, in the form of two widely traveling longform pieces.
We’ll be doing a short string of shows in the mid-west beginning June 20th. Dates and locations available on our home page. As well as FB event page.
0 New embral live release
When embral (Adam Holquist and I) went on the road last November, our intention was to play no existing music, and to essentially treat the tour as a mobile R&D lab for the next studio release, recording every night and seeing which bits began to take shape.
This is not the next studio release. This is a ‘calling card’. It gives some hints at where the new music is heading, without (we hope) giving away too much.
Speaking of “the next studio release”, the music for the new studio release has been recorded and I’m in the process of mixing and mastering it. The plan is to get the music out in the Fall with a support tour in November.
In the mean time, enjoy a very cold night in Kansas City.
