0 WPS presents: Presidential Head Sculpture Live Stream

February 17, 2022
8:00 PM EST
Binky and Big Steve make their first appearance on Bandcamp via livestreaming from Ithaca, NY and Indianapolis, IN. Come get your head sculpted!
Chat room opens at 7:30 PM EST, Tune in and say hello!

As you may have heard, unless you’ve bought merchandise from the artist whose show you’re watching, you’ll be asked to pay for access to the chat room. Reports are that the minimum contribution is $1, with a $5 suggested amount – essentially a tip, or the price of a drink or two at a live venue. If you have a PayPal account linked to Bandcamp already, you can pay via PayPal; otherwise you’re likely to see a credit-card form pop up.
Binky and Big Steve will be donating all proceeds from the chat contributions to the Tompkins County Creative Recovery Fund. It’s a fund that supports artists in the Ithaca, New York area whose ability to work has been impacted by COVID and the resulting limitations on live events and gallery shows. The Fund has been doing this for over two years now, and you’d be surprised at how much difference a bag of groceries or an afternoon of child care can make for a working artist. Please do join the chat, and give generously. We’ll be taking questions there after the show (if at all possible – we haven’t been able to test that yet).
0 New embral live release
When embral (Adam Holquist and I) went on the road last November, our intention was to play no existing music, and to essentially treat the tour as a mobile R&D lab for the next studio release, recording every night and seeing which bits began to take shape.
This is not the next studio release. This is a ‘calling card’. It gives some hints at where the new music is heading, without (we hope) giving away too much.
Speaking of “the next studio release”, the music for the new studio release has been recorded and I’m in the process of mixing and mastering it. The plan is to get the music out in the Fall with a support tour in November.
In the mean time, enjoy a very cold night in Kansas City.
THIS WAY FORWARD:
0 Faux Pas Quartet Final Recordings Part 1
After 9 years, Faux Pas Quartet is coming to an end. This is Part 1 of our final recordings.
0 Music for the Tacopocalypse
Tacopocalypse - Live improvisations by urbster1, dRachEmUsiK, onewyaness, jmtta
SOMEHOW I figured now was a good time to get the Tacopocalypse music out into the universe.
Tacopocalypse was recorded on 5-19-2012 at Bela Dubby in Lakewood, OH. Bela Dubby was a wonderful art, music, food venue that closed the day after this recording. It was replaced by a Taco place. At some point during the night the closing of Bela Dubby was referred to as The Tacopocalypse.
The two tracks on the release are group improvisations done by Aaron Urbanski aka urbster1, Adam Holquist aka onewayness, Charles Shriner aka dRachEmUsiK and Jason Breitigan aka jmtta.
This is a free download.
0 New Release – Urbster1 & dRachEmUsiK
The release On December 2nd, 2015, in the USA… by Urbster1 and dRachEmUsik is comprised of four, live, unedited improvisations. The music employs elements of Dark Ambient, Glitch, Drone, Noise and Avant-Jazz.
This music was created two days after the mass shooting in San Bernardino, CA. While we didn’t specifically set out to create music based on that horrific event, the shootings and related events clearly had an influence on our creative process.
In addition to being available as a download, On December 2nd, 2015… limited edition CDs are available at live performances. Standard edition CDs available from the MCSD NetLabel site.
